RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch Overview – Build your Theme Park

RollerCoaster Tycoon will always be a personal favorite of mine. As a kid I would literally spend hours and hours in front of this game, building my own amusement park. It was a way to be creative, and in some senses learning about making a business since you are building your own amusement park. You needed to use a budget, make money, and figure out prices for food and rides, how much to charge people for entry fees, and know what your guests needed to keep them happy. As a kid you don’t think too much into this and that there really is an educational value to it too, but besides from that it’s also a lot of fun. Now I’m going to give you a few cheats (shhhh I won’t tell if you don’t… even though I just did), to the beloved game that we all know and love! What’s also cool about the latest version it’s a touch screen, called RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch. Thank you, technology!

Let’s get started. When you first start out with your new park, your first goal is to collect the cards. How do you get these cards? You’re going to have to complete as many tasks as possible. The more cards you get, the more items you can pick from to upgrade your amusement parks.

Helpful tip: You’re going to need to adjust your prices so can make money. Besides earning your cards, you need the coins to buy things too! Adjust the prices as you see fit. (Also, don’t upgrade too quickly. Be careful not to spend so much in the beginning!

While we’re talking about the beginning phases of the game, make sure to complete your earliest missions as soon as you start. You’ll be better off in the long run! Also use common sense. Save the longer tasks for later, and finish the easiest ones first! You’ll same time and money on your game.

Also be very aware of your buildings! You’re going to want to check them as frequent as you can. Why? You don’t want them to cap out on you. You want to stay up to date on collecting your coins! Otherwise you can’t collect them if they’re still there. Taking a break or a cat nap from your game while you’re playing? Make sure to refresh it every now and again too. Times can be lagging and everything else will lag with it.

Prices and feedback are also very important. You need to know what your guests want to keep them happy! Are things too expensive for them? Are things to cheap? Get creative too! This is your dream amusement park and you can bend the rules as you see fit! Don’t be afraid to get creative and experiment! If you don’t like something, simply change it!

Atari continues to publish some of its best classic games, this time it´s RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch. This is actually the last of a series of games that has endured the test of time. This game will allow us to design roller coasters in our own amusement park. You get to play the manager of your own theme park and include all sorts of games and attractions that will help it skyrocket and become #1.

The game is in a way or another, a very pragmatic way of learning how capitalistic economies work. The game has different settings and the objectives are different in each one, but they all have to do with earning enough money to keep the park going, pay the loan you asked for to build the park, and so on. In other words, money has to be made and enough visitors need to actually visit the park in order for it to be lucrative and keep on existing.

Some of the things you can do are the management of the park, the creation of scenarios and even the possibility to decide how visitors move from one part of the property to another through the use of different means of transport.

The game starts at a vacant lot, which we will have to turn into a great source of money by investing the little that we have, the most intelligent way possible. We will begin with a few attractions and services available and the goal is for our park to take shape until we attract enough visitors to guarantee a constant flow of profit. At that time we can begin thinking about expanding our list of buildings and attractions. To do this, we have to resort to research; we also need to establish a monthly budget that allows us to access different attractions, shops and of course, roller coasters.

The main goal of the game is to design roller coasters that are eventually functional. If we want we can even share our creations and the designs that we have made with our friends just as they can share what they have made in the game with us. Of course, before building monumental roller coasters we will have to start with the basic merry-go-rounds, house of horrors and so forth.

The park also requires services so we will need to create shops of all kinds, information booths and the much-needed toilets. Each of one of the buildings has its variables that we can adjust. We can decide how much a soda is worth and if the price is the same throughout the park, among many other alternatives. This way we can control the incoming and outgoing money flow in a very detailed way. This game really represents an interesting strategic challenge for lovers of building and management.
